Happy Pride month!!!
In this week’s session we talk about the rule ‘We encourage each other with kind words’
Through attempting to grow the impulse to be constructive in criticism and to be their own cheerleaders, Bob invokes the mantra of Mama Ru: “If you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love somebody else?!” Does that seem wise?
How can we show children what we mean by encouragement and kindness? Does Selena Gomez hold the answers?
Is honesty a valuable form of kindness, and how close to someone should we feel before we can be ‘honest’ rather than ‘sugar-coat’ things?
There are good examples to attempt to answer this, from Zizek, Jeff Ross and Robin Tran
When we think about encouraging others – what do we think we should encourage them to move towards? Doug Stanhope may hold the key…
You can feel the love with Ru Paul on Twitter @RuPaul
Michael Morpurgo wrote Kensuke’s Kingdom. His website is https://www.michaelmorpurgo.com/
Bill Burr is an hilarious comedian with multiple specials on Netflix.
The values survey we discussed is available here - https://www.viacharacter.org/
Ironically for this episode, Bob’s result showed kindness was ranked 14thmost important in his personality. YIKES!

The Shia LeBeouf video is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXsQAXx_ao0 It is easy to see why he was ridiculed, but it is unclear why Bob remembered him as topless.
