Springtime! Pre-dawn distant waves and bird sounds, with occasional distant traffic.
Dawn chorus and distant traffic.
My first experiment recording here, with very little editing. Some of the louder traffic was snipped out, but roughly, without much tenderness.
Recorded in Waitati, New Zealand (South Island)
Distant waterfalls and lots of bird calls at the top of Bridal Veil Falls, Leura NSW. This is a great spot to watch the sulfur-crested cockatoos as they come soaring up the valley to land at the top of the waterfall for a drink.

Lots of bees and flies around this morning at Fernery Cave in Leura NSW. But also some lovely singing birds.

Let's finish the season with a long recording of waves at Seven Mile Beach at Shoalhaven Heads NSW. This is almost exactly the same recording location as the previous day -- up on the sandbank between the national park and the beach -- but this time I had the mics pointing straight at the water instead of parallel. So we get stereo waves but no birds.
(I removed an audio spike which sounded like a light tap on the mic. I suspect it was a curious bird checking out the furry wind cover on the recorder. Unfortunately it didn't sing into the mic so I don't know for sure.)

Heard the wind in the trees and birds calling so had to stop during the descent from Drawing Room Rocks outside of Berry, NSW.
The recording turned up a noise I haven't heard in years -- the dit-dit sound of mobile phone interference. I cut most of it out of the recording but you can still hear a few blips in the right channel near the end of the track.

A long recording of breaking waves and some bird calls at Seven Mile Beach at Shoalhaven Heads, NSW. There were lots of dogs (and puppies with giant feet) on the beach that morning so there is some barking, too.

Lots of water, with the mic right up in the creek running off from the Pool of Siloam, and waterfall in the background.

A long walk on the track from Pool of Siloam to Lyrebird Dell in Leura NSW. Featuring: waterfalls, birds, water drips, footsteps, a helicopter, a very Aussie g'day, and more.

A still, sunny morning in Leura NSW. A nice change from the blustery weekend. Lots of birds sitting around chatting. At 7:43 you can hear a bee buzz the microphone, too.
Unfortunately I was on the highway side of the hill so you can hear trucks in the distance.

I promise it's not a toilet. Olympian Rock, Leura NSW. Same location as the previous episode but directed at the creek and sheltered from the wind a little more under these stairs.
