Too weak to quit, but too strong to admit weakness. A circular paradox that places us in the exact same situation we started with. In the same way a short in a circuit releases all of the electrons flowing through a wire, this paradox drains all of our energy.

Just quit. We can’t come up with some excuse of why it can’t be done, or be so bound to our addictions that we “can’t” do certain things because of their influence to do the bad behavior (go to a bar, meet some friend, or use Instagram).

Face the truth, addiction has just as much control over us if we believe “we can’t do something because of it’s influence...” Once we understand this, we can move past the delusion that we are victims to our biology and replace our nihilism with faith.
