I figured it’d be best to place these two quotes in here. Senecas quote was from the book I’m currently reading, “Letters From A Stoic”. The lesson in this particular letter is to be satisfied with what we already have while we pursue our natural desires: friendship, food, work, etc.
The second quote, Platos, is one of my favorites and maybe the most needed quote right now in politics. It’s a reminder to believe in Philosophy, not Ideology.
“But you have no need to fear that so valuable a thing may fall into unworthy hands. Only the wise man is content with what is his. All foolishness suffers the burden of dissatisfaction with itself.” - Seneca
“There will be no end to the troubles of states, or of humanity itself, till philosophers become kings in this world, or till those we now call kings and rulers really and truly become philosophers, and political power and philosophy thus come into the same hands.”
