The CPSC and the SRAM company are recalling all SRAM 12-speed shift brake levers sold separately as upgrade or replacement kits since the clamp bolt on the unit loosens preventing effective braking. This leads to crash and injury hazards.
About 61,300 of these units were sold in the US, and about 2,940 were sold in Canada at Specialty bicycle stores nationwide.
Stop using these SRAM shift brake levers until you have inspected them for tightness. If loose, contact SRAM at 1-800-346-2928 to arrange a free inspection and clamp bolt tightening.
