Sts Marcellinus and Peter are saints that are included among the saints of the Roman Canon. Marcellinus was a priest, and Peter an exorcist, both of the clergy of Rome, and eminent for their zeal and piety. Both of them were beheaded during the persecution of Emperor Dioclesian, about the year 304. Constantine erected a basilica over the crypt in which they were buried in Rome.
