Listen Later

This podcast is an explanatory overview of the first four trumpet plagues to be poured out on the earth after the opening of the seventh seal in the Book of Revelation, chapter 8. The distinction is shown between these first four plagues from the last three trumpet plagues referred to as the Three Woes. The first four plagues are eschatological judgments that come from God. They are directed primarily at nature, including the earth, trees and grass, as well as the sea, sea-creatures and waters of the earth. These plagues are foreshadowed by the plagues of ancient Egypt. The first four plagues only affect both wicked and righteous people, but only indirectly. These first four plagues have as their primary purpose to inspire the wicked to repent in the face of God's judgments. These plagues all use the fractional number of "one-third" to indicate the limited scope of their effects on the land, sea, and freshwater systems.
