This podcast explains how the redemption of Zion in Missouri will occur during the 3 1/2 years after the gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman and before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The podcast includes a discussion about the origin and meaning of the name Zion and how it applies to geographical locations as well as to the condition of the Lord's chosen people. The early saints in this gospel dispensation lost their inheritance in Zion in Missouri because they failed to build the temple at Independence Missouri and also failed to live the law of consecration or United Order, as it was then called. For these transgressions, the saints were persecuted and driven from the state of Missouri in 1838-1839 under the threat of an extermination order issued by Governor Lilbun Boggs. The saints left Missouri and resetttled in Nauvoo, Illinois, but they have never lost their resolve to redeem Zion in Missouri, to build the temple of the New Jerusalem in Independence and to establish the center stake of Zion in that same location. Zion shall only be redeemed in the Lord's due time without the shedding of blood. The New Jerusalem will be built as the saints adhere to celestial law, including strict obedience to the celestial law of consecration. Wehn this occurs at and after the gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman, then Zion in Missouri shall be redeemed without the sheddng of blood.
