This podcast explains and interprets the images and symbolism found in Revelation 12:5. In this verse, the woman representing the premortal church of God brought forth a man child. The child represents Jehovah (Jesus Christ) at the time he was elevated to godhood and assumed his position as the Creator and Redeemer with the sustaining vote and common consent of the membership of the premortal church of God. In all these capacities, Christ was metaphorically born to rule all nations with a rod of iron, which is the word of God. His rule would be firm and unyielding but also benevolent like a shepherd.

After the birth of the manchild, he was caught up unto God’s throne, which means he was taken up from the grand council on Kolob to the throne of God on God’s celestial residence. The glorified Christ could not remain on Kolob following Lucifer's rebellion because Kolob became spiritually unclean.
