In this episode we learn about the origins of the cigar box and how it came to be the primary transportation container for cigars.  We learn how many were estimated to be in circulation in the United States between 1800 and 1960 and who was 1st to package their cigars in wooden boxes and the earliest known use of the cigar box as an instrument we would know as the Cigar Box Guitar.
