Our saint today is St. Adalbert of Prague — a bishop, missionary, and martyr whose courage carried the light of the Gospel to the edges of medieval Europe. Born into nobility in 10th-century Bohemia, Adalbert chose a life of faith over privilege, becoming bishop of Prague and working tirelessly to reform and renew the Church in his homeland.

Facing resistance and exile, he continued his mission among the pagan peoples of Hungary, Poland, and Prussia — preaching peace, conversion, and mercy. His fearless devotion ultimately led to his martyrdom in 997, but his witness inspired generations of Christians across Central Europe.
