St. John Paul II: The Most Humble--and the Most Photographed--Man of His Time

Listen Later

A Papal term lasting nearly three decades, within the boom of technology capturing his legacy left and right...St. John Paul II quickly became known as the most photographed man of his time.

How did he capture the hearts and eyes of so many? What has this Catholic done to merit such attention from secular audiences? St. John Paul II knew eyes were on him, but he didn't use this attention for his own gain, but rather to bring to light cultural and political problems across the globe.

From sitting down with dictators, to spending time with children passing by, John Paul II garnered a legacy of impact. This episode we sit down with Bethany, the archivist at the St. John Paul II National Shrine to discuss how JP2 led with such conviction while remaining well liked, and how his legacy continues to impact lives today.
