St John Regis

Listen Later

St John Regis was born in 1597 and died in 1640. He was a French Jesuit priest, who was known for being a good catechist that children converted their parents, and going out of his way to help the poor. John established hostels for prostitutes, granaries for the poor and the Confraternities of the Blessed Sacrament. He was canonised by Pope Clement XII in 1737 and is the patron saint of lacemakers.
