Drawing from the Psalm, Lucy poses three questions: Why should we go to God for help, what happens when we go to God for help and how can we be confident that God will in fact help us?

Despite all the turmoil in the world we can stand confident in the fact that everything belongs to him, it has always belonged to him, everything we own; even our very lives. So no matter the circumstance we find ourselves in, we can know that we matter to God and that he has a plan for our lives.

We continue our series in the Psalms looking at the nature of God, this time we are focusing on God as our judge. Jono points out that whilst we may want God to be a cuddly grandpa who does exactly what we want, there are real consequences to our sin. Sin ruins our relationships with ourselves, with others, with God. The consequence of my sin is that I’m cut off from God’s love but the good news is that Jesus has the power to cancel all the wrongs we have ever done.

We’re starting our new series today with a look at God as our Father. As mentioned in our reading, Psalm 68, God is a Father to the fatherless. In her message, Eileen demonstrates the nature of God as Father by recalling the many times He shows provision, protection and even practical advice to his covenant people, Israel.
