Stand | Helmet of Salvation

Listen Later

For the Roman soldier, the helmet was important as it protected the head, but the design of the helmet still allowed for the soldier to have mobility to see the direction of the enemy’s attack. Paul is telling the Ephesians not to even engage in battle with the enemy until they have accepted or received salvation. Don’t even attempt to battle the enemy in your flesh. In the same way that a soldier would depend on the helmet to save their life, we have to depend on the gift of salvation to save our lives. We have to not only accept the helmet of salvation but we have to apply the helmet of salvation to our lives. Similarly to how the soldiers turn to their leader in the midst of an attack to lead them to safety, we have to turn our eyes to Jesus no matter the attacks and circumstances we face. Listen to this sermon about the helmet of salvation in the sixth part of our Stand series.
