Ms. León brings nearly 25 years of experience and expertise as an accomplished leader in the field of public health, education, school preparedness, and community engagement. As a bilingual professional, Jacquelyn has dedicated her career to advance equity and social justice for multilingual and immigrant families.
Jacquelyn León earned her Masters in Public Health from Morgan State University. In 2019, Jacquelyn was awarded the NJTESOL-NJBE President’s Award for advancing the “state of teaching and learning inNew Jersey by serving as a catalyst for the achievement of others”.Annually,Jacquelyn presents the Praxedes León Seal of Biliteracy Parent Award, in honor of her mother, to two parents.The award recognizes a parent’s role and value in supporting biliteracy as a global catalyst for success.Jacquelyn is the author of Yo Soy, I Am, a bilingual Spanish-English cuento about how a child’s name came to be through history, culture, family, and love.
