What if you prayed for healing… and it never came?
Does it mean you didn’t have enough faith? Many Christians have been told that—but is that really what the Bible teaches?
In this sermon, we look at the powerful story of the ten lepers in Luke 17:11–19. Jesus heals all ten men suffering from leprosy but only one returns to thank Him and recognise who He truly is.
What’s surprising is that all ten were physically healed, yet only one demonstrated faith in Jesus Christ as the Messiah. The others received healing without acknowledging Him at all.
This raises an important question:
If healing was not dependent on their faith in this story, why are Christians today sometimes told they simply lack enough faith when healing does not happen?
This message explores how God’s healing does not always follow the formulas we sometimes expect. The Scriptures show that God heals according to His purposes, which we may not always understand. While we may not receive every physical healing in this life, the hope of the gospel remains certain: one day, all who belong to Christ will experience complete restoration in His presence.
If you’ve ever wrestled with unanswered prayers for healing, this passage offers both honesty and hope.
