Is standardized testing a benchmark for success or a barrier to true learning?  In this episode of Ray Talks Live, we tackle the "hallmark" of modern education and the toll it takes on the mental and emotional energy of both students and teachers. I share my candid thoughts on how high-stakes exams often put authentic learning on hold, and why the "testing culture" has reached a breaking point in American high schools.

We also discuss the major shift in Florida’s education landscape as we say goodbye to the FSA (Florida Standards Assessment). As a veteran social studies teacher, I offer a bit of gratitude for this legislative change and explore what a "post-FSA" classroom could—and should—look like for the next generation of students.
