Ken Rudin is away this week to take care of some family matters, so Political Junkie coordinating producer Douglas Bell sits in the host chair to guide us through some interviews from the archives.

William Ruckelshaus died last week at the age of 87. We listen back to Ken’s 2015 interview with Ruckelshaus, who recalls the Saturday Night Massacre in 1973 when he and Attorney General Elliot Richardson quit the Nixon administration rather than obey an order from the president to fire special Watergate prosecutor Archibald Cox.

Jerry Austin, the veteran Ohio Democratic strategist, remembers John Glenn, the former astronaut and four-term senator, who died this week in 2016.

And, 41 years ago, San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Harvey Milk were assassinated. Mike Weiss, a former Time magazine reporter has written a book on the murders and recounts that horrific time.
