The AI world just got a budget-friendly earthquake. Researchers at Stanford and the University of Washington trained a reasoning model, “S1,” using a measly $50 in cloud compute credits. That’s less than the cost of a decent pair of headphones (and way less than the budget for the latest Marvel movie).
