The USS Chimera takes the new Starfleet prototype probe to the Ajax Anomaly and deploys it as instructed. However, when the probe is destroyed by a mysterious alien emerging from the anomaly, the crew finds themselves confronted with a mystery bigger than the anomaly itself.
