Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 13 and 14: A Tribble Called Quest and Cracked Mirror (also known as The Bribble and the Cracked Mirror). Lots to unpack in these episodes as we meet a scientist Klingon and we accidentally drop into the Mirroverse! That's right, Mirror Janeway is about to kick our butts!
The crew need some bosonite to get the proto-core up and running, so we drop into a planet that's been overrun by mutant tribbles! While that seems like bad news, we do also meet a Klingon scientist and create a new pet for the crew. But more importantly, we leave that planet and fly right into the Mirroverse where we meet Borg-Implant Janeway and Goatee Chakotay. This is a fun episode where even the whale is evil.
Today's lesson: never trust a goatee or a whale with a scar.
Our kid correspondent Maahi is here with an update toward the end of the pod. Hear what she has to say about her first introduction to Wesley Crusher.
Normally it's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about....but now we're bringing you something new! Prodigy is our first dive into podcasting new Trek. Come along for the ride!
Come back next time for S2E8 where we cover episodes 15 and 16: Ascension Parts I and II. You can also check out the previous episode S2E6: Last Flight of the Protostar Parts I and II!

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 11 and 12: Last Flight of the Protostar Parts I and II. We finally find Chakotay and we learn he's been stranded alone on a planet for 10 years.
The Prodigy crew have to help Chakotay get out of a depression and get the Protostar back into space. It's not an easy task (and it takes two episodes) but we do eventually get things moving.
Today's lesson: Don't be a downer, there's always another way.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 9 and 10: The Devourer of All Things Parts I and II. You are in for a treat in these two episodes as we learn the identity of the secret benefactor (guest Will Wheaton) and we get an explanation of what is going on with the timeline. And as an added bonus, Action Janeway turns up to kick butts and take names.
We finally learn the identity of the person who has been helping us and it's not entirely a surprise, but it is a lot of fun. Wesley Crusher is here to save the timeline (and his mom) but he is a little bit wacky and can't quite keep his mind on one thing at a time. There is a lot of action in these episodes as we meet the very unpleasant and unforgiving Loom. Wesley tries to save the crew from the time scavengers but when they get backed into a corner, it's Action Janeway to the rescue when the tank top and the phaser rifle come out!
Today's lesson: tank top Janeway is the best Janeway.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 7 and 8: The Fast and the Curious and Is There in Beauty No Truth. In these episodes we run into an evil computer in the first episode and some mysterious non corporeal beings in the second. Neither maybe has our crew's best interest at heart!
In episode 7 we run into some old villains in the Kazon, but not everything is as it seems. The same holds true in episode 8 when we find a planet of non corporeal beings that are maybe keeping a secret of their own. In the first episode, Dal and Gwyn get into a little race for freedom while in the second episode Zero makes some new friends and experiences some new sensations.
Today's lesson: ask more questions.
Our kid correspondent Maahi is back! We asked her to record an update for all of the episodes in season 2 up to this week. Look for that toward the end of the podcast.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 5 and 6: Observer's Paradox and Imposter Syndrome. In these episodes we are trying to figure out our mysterious helper while the young crew hatches a complex plan to get off of Voyager!
Murf is trying to tell us something but nobody speaks Murf-ese so Rok-Tahk hatches an innocent plan enlisting the help of Gillian the whale. Later the crew tries to replace themselves with holograms so they can escape Voyager, but in usual fashion everything goes haywire.
Today's lesson: don't make the same mistakes as Geordi.
Our kid correspondent Maahi is away this month and is unavailable. She will be back!

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 3 and 4: Who Saves the Saviors and Temporal Mechanics 101. In these episodes we deal with the fallout of the crew heading into the wormhole too early. Dal wants to stay on mission and rescue Chakotay but everything goes wrong and the very existence of Gwyn is put at risk. We learn the Vulcan Nova squad's name is Maj'El (played by Michaela Dietz) and we absolutely love it!
Dal, Zero, Jankom and the Vulcan land on Solum 52 years in the future. There is a brief amount of hope as we believe we are there to help with events, but of course it all falls apart when Chakotay changes his actions. Whoops! Meanwhile over on Solum in the past, Gwyn is having a fight-to-the-death with the Vindicator in the giant pit. These things never end well.
Today's lesson: don't mess with the timeline, kids. You don't have the time.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 Episodes 1 and 2: Into the Breach. All of our favorites are back (except for Holo Janeway!!!!). We've got the real Janeway this time and her rather acerbic bridge crew! Maybe they're still bitter about Ensign Tahani (yes, I know her name is Asencia) . The entire Prodigy crew is back for a new season and a new adventure and we are going to make our way through it a bit slowly, so please stick with us! This year we have the voices of Kate Mulgrew (Janeway, duh), Jason Alexander (Noum), Daveed Diggs (Atennas), John Noble (Daddy Diviner) and Jameela Jamil (Tahani/Asencia) returning to their great characters. And in not so surprising news, we are treated to Robert Picardo as the holographic doctor!
Janeway invites the Prodigy crew to join her on her next mission on board the new Starship Voyager-A. She may be regretting that decision as Dal gets into trouble almost immediately. The rest of the team is trying desperately to fit into Starfleet and their new roles but Dal is unsettled. Janeway is trying to keep a mission into the wormhole under wraps, but when the Prodigy crew learns about it, pretty much everything goes off the rails. Meanwhile on Solum, Gwyn's plan of peace is quickly derailed by the Vindicator.
Today's lesson: don't bring kids along on a super secret mission.
Our kid correspondent Maahi is traveling with her family and not in this episode. We do intend to get her back on the pod when she returns home.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to the Star Trek Prodigy season 1 wrap up!
In this episode we sum up what happened in the two halves of the season. We talk about our favorite episodes and also go over the big character developments of Dal and Gwyn. We read a lot of feedback from our listeners and we make some pretty non-controversial predictions about season 2. Well...there might be some controversial opinions in there (we can't help ourselves).
Lesson for the season: always buy the bigger USB stick.
If you haven't heard our 7-year old correspondent Maahi (from our previous episodes), then this is the time to tune in. She is here to give her thoughts on the entire season and Trek in general!
Normally it's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about....but now we're bringing you something new! Don't miss our previous episode S1E20: Supernova Part II.

Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 Episode 20: Supernova, Part II. In a season finale full of tears and sacrifices, we bring the story to a satisfying conclusion. There is no other way out but for someone (and something) to be sacrificed to avoid the annihilation of Starfleet. Look out for a couple of Easter Eggs in this episode including a slightly hidden Ender-prizian as well as a cameo by Dr. Erin Macdonald.
The crew has finally gained some control of the Protostar and realizes that something drastic needs to happen in order to deal with the living construct. In true Star Trek fashion we have our hearts broken but then immediately filled with hope for the future.
Today's lesson: always buy the bigger USB stick.
