And with that emergency order, a Starfleet Officer contains a dangerous intruder or renegade crew member by encasing them in a shimmering field of force, or a force field. Or a Captain can call for his tactical officer to, ‘Raise Shields!’ - another variation and version of a magical like force field. But exactly are these marvels we see on Star Trek? Could they really exists in our real world? C’mon. Let’s talk creating fictional and even real life force fields.
