This narrative centers on Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, as they undertake a mission to the planet Gala. Queen Veda of Gala has called for their assistance in overseeing democratic elections, hoping to stabilize the planet and prevent civil war. However, Prince Beju, the Queen's son and presumed heir, fiercely opposes the elections, viewing them as a denial of his birthright. The Jedi quickly become entangled in palace intrigue, discovering that Queen Veda is being poisoned and that a powerful Council Minister, Giba, is conspiring with the ambitious Deca Brun, a political candidate backed by the nefarious Offworld corporation. While Obi-Wan uncovers the plot and the identity of the poisoner, Qui-Gon seeks out Elan, King Cana's secret daughter and the true heir to the throne, to persuade her to participate in the political transition. Ultimately, both Jedi work to ensure a peaceful election, exposing the corruption and restoring balance to Gala.
