Yesterday, the crescent has been sighted in the Sub-Continent, thus Today, 21st August 2020 is the 1st of Muharram 1442H in the Sub-Continent.

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah, The Crescent of Muharram 1442 has been sighted in India & 10th Muharram (Aashoora) will be on Sunday, 30-08-2020. Muharramul Haram is the first month of the Islamic calendar, i.e. the Hijri year starts off with Muharramul Haram and concludes with Dhul-Hijjah.
