Emanuel Alberto Pleitez was a 2013 mayoral candidate for the city of Los Angeles. He was the first of his family to attend college, graduating from Stanford University in 2006. Emanuel is a combat veteran and continues to serve in the United States Army Reserve.
He is now a full-time investor, a founding partner of East Los Capital, a technology-enabled private equity firm. Emanuel has more than 12 years of experience working inside high-performing organizations in various industries, including private equity, software, consumer internet, tech-enabled services, investment banking, management consulting, and the public sector.
