BREAK DOWN THE INTERNAL WALLS
Our internal walls can be far stronger than any walls that have ever been built in the world. These internal walls are derived from the preconceived ideas and feelings we have towards others based on colour, age, sex, race, religion or any other orientations different from our own. This is called prejudice.
Prejudice is a latin word which means ‘ judgement in advance’. Your unjustified, negative thoughts, beliefs and actions against others are the walls you have built in your mind. When you find yourself discriminating against others, it is your prejudice that is at work.
To break this walls of prejudice is to look inward and querry your attitude and behaviours towards others. You will most likely get all you ever want if you look beyond the externalities of skin, materials, gender and belief.
No human being is totally free of some form of prejudice but if we know and decide to downplay our own prejudice, we will be more ready to break new grounds and open our minds to collaborate with others of different colours, race, religion and gender.
As Lawrence . J Peter said, “ Two things reduce prejudice: education and laughter.” If we keep on learning about ourselves and our thoughts processes and keep an open mind, we will break the barriers of prejudices in our minds.
