StartUp – Monday June 27, Romans 5:1-2
Hi Passionate Youth Reaching Out, today is Monday June 27. My name is Grant and this is Start Up, helping you start your day with an upward focus.
Romans 5:1–2 (HCSB)
1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Peace is what you feel when everything is right. To have peace with God is an amazing blessing, it is when everything is right between you and God. Obviously, this peace that you find can’t be the result of your right living, because none of us have lived perfectly. Instead, this peace that comes from being right with God is because we have been declared righteous in spite of our wrong. We are declared righteous by Jesus, as he call us his own.
It is very appropriate the Jesus is called the “Prince of Peace”. There is no true peace without him, and there is a full promise of peace with him. That peace is with God, and not necessarily with the world. For those that hated Jesus will surely hate even more the ones who follow him. In this world you will have trouble, but you can take heart, for Jesus, the Prince of Peace, has overcome the world.
Now we wait in the hope of the glory of God. This hope comes to us in the middle of our own shortcomings failures. We know that one day, because of the Prince of Peace, we will know what it is to not only be declared right with God, but to also be the righteousness of God. This is because God’s grace is consistently helping us to overcome sin, and overcome this world, until the day when sin is no more in our lives, or in God’s world, and the rule of the Prince of Peace will never come to an end.
