Hi Passionate Youth Reaching Out, today is Thursday June 16. My name is Grant and this is Start Up, helping you start your day with an upward focus. We see an absolutely amazing idea presented in this passage, we can be God’s righteousness on display.

Romans 3:21–26 (HCSB)

21 But now, apart from the law, God’s righteousness has been revealed —attested by the Law and the Prophets 22 —that is, God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe, since there is no distinction. 23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 24 They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Him as a propitiation through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His restraint God passed over the sins previously committed. 26 God presented Him to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be righteous and declare righteous the one who has faith in Jesus.

The word revealed can mean either to make something known that wasn’t known before, or to display and show something that wasn’t seen before. Its the announcement of news, weather good or bad. Today’s passage is an amazing revealing. God’s righteousness is made known to everyone who believes in Jesus.

This thought is huge. We can actually know God’s righteousness. It’s more then just knowing about his righteousness, its experiencing and living out his righteousness. This is fantastic news for everyone who will believe in Jesus.

How does it happen. I wrote a short poem to summarize.

For all have sinned and so are disgraced

But many are justified freely by grace.

Jesus died for sin, he died in our place

Though his life, we are righteousness on display

Your challenge for this week is to start a Prayer Journal. Write down your prayers to God, and then throughout the summer, go back through your journal and make note of the ways that God answers your prayers.

I want to invite all students in Grades 6-12 to our year end event on Friday June 24. It is a School’s Out Sports Party at McMahon Stadium. You will have a chance to play some games on the field and also to hear from some Christian athletes. The cost is 2 dollars.
