7 March, 2025 – CAPE COD – Massachusetts state epidemiologist Dr. Catherine Brown says Massachusetts has seen zero known human cases of bird flu to date. While the risk remains low, the state continue to track and monitor for the virus in human populations.

"Nobody has seemed to have gotten avian flu just from being outside in the same place that ducks and geese were. That really does not seem to pose a risk"
