State Information Technology Agency admits that differences between employer and workers has led to wage strike
The State Information Technology Agency says what the workers affiliated with the Public Servants Association are demanding is unaffordable. This comes as workers have embarked on a strike after wage talks were deadlocked. The union is demanding a 7.5% wage increase, while the employer has moved from 4.5% to 5%. The strike which may negatively affect or could see a complete closure of operations and services provided by government departments such as home affairs, employment and labor, and the SA Social Security Agency (SASSA).
