The Box Elder County Commission on July 9 approved the annual renewal of a long-standing funding agreement with the Utah State Courts to partially reimburse the county for courthouse security services. While state law requires county sheriffs to provide courtroom bailiffs, the state is not obligated to fund screening or perimeter security.
