Following decades of concern raised over contamination of the lower Smith River, the California North Coast Regional Water Board will meet on October 8th to hear testimony from a growing coalition of residents, scientists and conservation organizations that are seeking to eliminate toxic pesticide use on lands that surround the Smith River estuary.
