Many years ago (2006), when I was tipping the scales at around 320lbs, a "friend" decided that it was time for me to listen to the Stephen King book "Stationary Bike" being read to me while I was captive in a car on an eight hour drive. I am not sure that her motives were as pure as liking scary books, but in the end, the book still has my attention even if its lessons aren't fully integrated in my head.
The Christmas Season is the money season. And this year it has brought unto us the Peloton Ad. In a society that is obsessed - OBSESSED - with "healthy living" you might think that an ad for an overpriced stationary bike that costs more than your car AND you still have to buy the smarmy smiling video class separately would at least convince a few of us that since we cannot afford the Peloton we should at least go to the gym and use the cheap one that comes with the membership we bought last year but never used to at least pretend that we care about healthy living for a few days before we go back to our nachos and social media bitching about the myriad of things that "offend" us.
Currently at the top of the list, apparently, is the Peloton Ad...
