Hebrews 12:12-17.
Rolling back into the imagery of athletics, our Author cheers us on one more time. His consuming desire is to see his fellow faith runners stay the course and finish the race. He knows that a common reaction to God’s discipline is to give up and stop running entirely. But at the very moment, we feel like giving up, we need to stay the course. Right now you might be tired in your race, the going is hard, the pains are severe, and the difficulties numerous—but don’t stop running. Main Idea—To stay the course in the race of faith we must be strong, strive forward, and avoid hazards.
