For this episode I wanted to chat with someone from the world of the performing arts. Sacramento has a robust performing arts scene, from the Music Circus to the B Street Theater at The Sofia to the Empire Arts Collective. Perez, along with Jessilee Windhaus, co-founded Empire Arts Collective in 2015. Additionally, Emily Perez is a music teacher. Empire Arts Collective is a "nonprofit performing arts incubator dedicated to providing education, resources, and collaborative opportunities for performing artists in the Sacramento area".
