Daniel and his three friends were brought into Babylon, educated in a Babylonian university For 3 years and asked to eat the kings meat and drink his wine so that at the end of that period they would look, think and act like Babylonians.

The attempt to change their identity and belief was subtle – one day at a time. Worldliness is a “competing loyalty”. We are lights called to shine in the world but when we begin to compromise we lose our voice and effective witness.
