Staying Organized.

Mel’s Mindful Moments S1-E13 transcript:

Staying organized is important, so we won’t forget events in our personal and professional lives. We often kid ourselves to think that we will remember everything. I can tell you from personal experience, this it a total myth. Trust me, you WILL forget!

How many times have you heard or possible said it yourself, “Well it must not have been important anyway.” Can you really be sure about that? I say the answer is, "No!”

If you search online for organizing systems, you will be overwhelmed by the amount of returns you get.

My personal suggestion to staying organized is this:

1. The simpler the system you use, the better it is.

2. Have only one source to put everything.

3. Make it the first thing you check in the morning.

4. Use it and reference it throughout the day.

5. Lastly, make it the last thing that you look at before bedtime.

A simple notebook is all you need. This can be used for your personal and professional life. The beauty of having everything in one place is that ...

… you know exactly where everything is.

This is a far better than having to look at multiple places. Like searching your work computer to see when your next meeting is. Then looking on your smartphone for something else, and "Where did I put that sticky note for my son’s doctor's appointment? Well, you get the idea.

For a more in-depth reading into this type of system, I highly recommend the book, “The Bullet Journal Method”, by Ryder Carroll. It will change the way you look at organizing your life.

I wish you success!
