Despite prevention efforts, an estimated 20 million new STD infections occur in the United States each year, of which 50,000 are due to HIV. Fortunately, clinicians now have an expanding number of prevention tools, including both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Despite the progress, implementing these strategies in practice remains challenging and complex. In this CME activity, Dr. Raphael Landovitz will review available guidelines for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), providing clinicians with information on how to implement evidence-based HIV prevention strategies into practice.
