Stefhen Bryan is a fearless artist who is not afraid of shining a spotlight on controversial issues or topics. His first book, the critically acclaimed “Black Passenger Yellow Cabs: A Memoir of Exile and Excess in Japan”, is an erotic auto/ethnographic memoir exploring the socio-psycho-sexual dynamics of modern-day Japan. Stefhen is also a talented playwright and actor. He wrote and starred in the autobiographical one man play “Doodu Boy – The Search for Love from Cesspool to Sushiland”. Stefhen performed the piece on stages all across the United States, including a run off-Broadway. In this episode we discuss his latest piece, the short film “River Mamma”, currently in pre-production. Stefhen once again dives headfirst into controversial subject matter that is compelling, frank, and necessary.
