In our last episode, we kicked off the “STEM Career Paths” series where we highlighted the career as an Actuary. This week, we will highlight the career as a Data Scientist. A data scientist is responsible for collecting, analyzing and interpreting extremely large amounts of data. Data Science enables companies to efficiently understand data from multiple sources and derive valuable insights to make smarter data-driven decisions.
Our special guest, Chinelo Oyekwe, is a data scientist and has been in the field for over 5 years. She has two degrees in Computer Science. Her love for numbers and technology made the choice to pivot into data science an easy one to make. Chinelo strongly believes that technology and data are the new gold, so she dedicates her time teaching her growing online community about tools and resources to help them successfully switch into tech and grow their new tech careers.
