Stephanie Schmidt is yet another Midwestern transplant to Alaska. She is a limnologist by training (word of the day: limnology - the study of inland waters) and will occasionally admit to being a cheesehead. Having lived in both Wisconsin and Minnesota, she was tired of the two states arguing over who had more lakes and decided to move to the state that had the most lakes of all (over 3 million - take that!). Her day job and extracurricular activities pretty much revolve around conserving Alaska salmon, but her favorite fish will always be the beautiful brook trout in a southeastern Minnesota stream. She was recently adopted by two puppies in Emmonak who now consume her life... and her roommate's underwear.
