In this episode, Ray (your host) gets to meet with Co-Founder & Head Chef of Kobunga: Korean Grill, Stephen Cho, who Ray has actually known since Kindergarten.


Stephen was born and raised in LA, but while completing his undergrad at NYU in New York, he grew his passion for cooking and hospitality. Initially starting out with small private open tables where Stephen would serve up some amazing slow-cooked BBQ such as his infamous beef brisket. After graduation, Stephen made his way back to the West Coast, where he continued his underground cooking ventures until he eventually teamed up with his partner and opened up his own restaurant on the USC Campus Village with plans of expansion.


Although Stephen is known for being a great listener, here he is able to share insights and thoughts on the Food & Beverage/Hospitality industry and his overall journey of perseverance and stamina in faith to remain consistent in reaching his goals through his gifts and passion for food and hospitality. Today with 2020’s health concerns over COVID-19,

Stephen discusses how plans for Kobunga dramatically changed, and how he and his partner have been able to overcome the economic burden of the virus with proper preparation and quick pivoting and adapting to the changes and restrictions enforced on restaurant businesses in LA.
