Stephen Kearney: Warriors to open at Mount Smart in 2017
Mount Smart will host the Warriors' opening game of the season for the first time in eight years next season.
The Sunday March 5 game against the Knights will be the first week one match at the ground since 2009, with the Warriors starting at Eden Park or on the road since.
Coach Stephen Kearney told D'Arcy Waldegrave on The Sauce the draw is what it is, but he's pleased to open at home.
He said it's good to get the opportunity to kick off in front of their home fans.
Another feature of the draw sees the Warriors hosting four Friday night games and playing another in Dunedin.
