Global Perspectives

Stephen McConnachie - Keeping the schools open when they are closed.

Listen Later

In this first episode of Global Perspectives I talk to Stephen McConnachie on how to keep a school running when the physical campus is closed. This is response to the news that Japan has joined China in shutting all schools. While it will hopefully not come to this in other countries, it pays to be prepared just in case.Stephen has experience in continuing teaching and learning through a school closure. This happened to him in 2011 during the Christchurch Earthquakes. His school's campus was closed all year. He had seven weeks without a physical teaching space and then his school shared a site with another school until the original site could be repaired.Stephen and I discuss how schools might approach a closure like this now. Here's Stephen's article we refer to: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/e-learning-crisis-stephen-mcconnachie/You can reach Stephen via:Twitter: @s_mcconnachieLinkedIn: smcconnachieYou can connect with me via:Twitter: @benhilliamInstagram: @MathematicousbenLinkedInMy website
