Stephen Richardson’s work addresses tissue engineering. Just like in “regular” engineering, he aspires to come up with ingenious solutions to solve defects and malfunctions. Instead of a building or an engine, though, it’s the body that is at stake. By enhancing biocompatibility in the materials later implanted in the body, it’s safe to assume his main goal is to safeguard patients’ best interest and to ensure he pulls his weight in the lab to meet clinical demands.
