I've known Steve for almost 15 years, dating back to when I lived on Oahu and wanted to be a punk rock icon. Every crappy little punk band I was in, we always used to be on the same bill as "ORDER OF THE WHITE ROSE, Steve's phenomenal hardcore band. I was always blown away by how professional they sounded, and how they were able to pull the crowd in. Now, those are all valid honorariums of a musician, but what was more important to me personally was how Steve always had the time to talk with me about music, and no matter how much I bitched how my little band was going nowhere, he was there to give me the words of encouragement to keep going, to keep making music. He could see the passion I had for music, and really encouraged me to pursue it. Like I said, knowing Steve for as long as I have, I learned stuff in this interview about him that I didn't know. Like how he learned from being a tech in MR. BUNGLE, about his chicken farming, and working in a vineyard. Now, this interview is just about an hour, and I know that's long for most listeners, but make sure you listen to the whole thing.
