My guests today, Steve Murphy and Javier Pena are DEA agents assigned as the lead investigators targeting Escobar and his organization. They are true American heroes who brought down the world’s first narco-terrorist and successfully ended the reign of terror of the world’s most wanted criminal.
In this episode, Steve Murphy and Javier Pena talk about the mission of bringing down Pablo Escobar. They share the real meaning of DEA, how they got into the mission, the impact of the mission on their mental health, the effects of the bounty put on them by Pablo in their lives, and how Pablo used to put the police system on his side. They also share some insights on how they knew the mission was coming to an end and how close they were when Pablo was killed on the rooftop.
Steve and Javier remind us that when we dedicate ourselves and make sacrifices for our goals, we can achieve them because we are willing to invest time and effort into them until they become a reality. The commitment must be present at all times, and we need to be committed 100% of the time regardless of what happens because this will give us strength and motivation that will help us overcome any obstacle that comes our way.
