Highly regarded as one of the pioneers of the men's ministry movement in America, Steve started one of the first men's ministries in the country for the growing church population at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin. His real passion is to see every local church have its own ministry to men. In 1994, he began the annual No Regrets Men’s Conference which today draws thousands of men to the event held at Elmbrook Church and across the country via webcast. Steve also serves as Senior Associate Pastor of Leadership Development at Elmbrook Church and regularly consults and leads seminars in this country and around the world with churches from a wide range of denominations helping to develop and establish local men's ministries and address leadership issues.

Steve has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee and a Masters of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. Steve and his wife, Colleen, have raised four children and recently became empty nesters. They are proud owners of Misha, a Newfoundlander expected to reach 150 lbs.
