Sticky Jazz Interview 30 minute banter with Andy Bell (Erasure)

Listen Later

For all the syntpop in the world that we have listened to, one of the biggest acts ever was "Erasure", with the synth music genius Vince Clarke, fronted by Andy Bell. You all know the hits like "Sometimes", or "Victim of Love", "Little Respect" or "Blue Savannah", or whatever got you onto the dancefloor.

Andy Bell has just released his most recent album (number 3), called "Ten Crowns", which embraces a very different musical direction than with Erasure, (Though Vince did a few of the remixes for this one) with an experimental "Euro Techno" vibe, and then he goes off into his love of country music a bit.

I have interviewed him before, and every time we have talked he has been great to talk to, filling in the gaps, often singing to remember his lyrics, and just generally excited to be talking to a fan.

We discuss his work with Debbie Harry on this album, and the tour that is happening in the US.
